Rohit Sharma's Post-Retirement Life

Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian men's ODI cricket team, is currently spending quality time with his family in Mumbai following his retirement from Test and T20 formats. The 38-year-old right-handed batsman, who led India to two ICC titles in the past year and a half, was recently spotted seeking blessings from Lord Ganesha during the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Mumbai. A video from the Ganesh festival has gone viral online, showing Rohit requesting fans not to chant 'Mumbai cha Raja Rohit Sharma' while he joins in the festivities.

Fans of Rohit have been celebrating his legacy and stardom by chanting 'Mumbai cha Raja Rohit Sharma', but in the latest clip, he is seen asking them to refrain from doing so. With over 11,000 runs in ODI cricket, Rohit was last seen in action for Team India during the ICC Champions Trophy final against New Zealand on March 9, 2025, in Dubai. In that match, he was the top scorer, helping India secure the Champions Trophy title for the third time in 27 years.

For his impressive 76-run innings in the Champions Trophy final, Rohit was awarded the Player of the Match. He is set to return to the field next month when India faces Australia in a three-match ODI series. The Indian team will tour Australia for three ODIs and five T20 matches, starting with the ODI series on October 19 at Perth's Optus Stadium, followed by two more ODIs in Adelaide on October 23 and Sydney on October 25.
